Saturday 18th November @ 6pm
Exclusive to VH1
This November VH1 will exclusively reveal the 100 biggest selling albums in the UK from the last 50 years. Forget public polls or ‘best of’ lists from know-it-all music critics… ‘The Nation’s Favourite Album’ will honestly reveal which music the people of the UK have truly embraced as it’s a countdown of the albums we’ve actually parted with our hard-earned cash for!
The five hour countdown will be hosted by Britpop legend and Blur guitarist Alex James, and the chart rankings come courtesy of The Official UK Charts Company. The exact order of the Top 100 has never been revealed before, and a team of researchers have spent over six months working round the clock, trawling through sales figures - including hand written till receipts dating back to the 1950s - to reveal some eye-opening results. Forget past polls and lists, this is the only chart that really counts.
Alex will be counting down the chart and revealing a few surprises along the way; incredibly British rock and roll legends The Rolling Stones do not have a single album in the top 100, yet cheesy 80’s heartthrob Jason Donovan makes the cut! But will it be old favourites like The Beatles’ ‘Sergeant Pepper’ or Meatloaf’s ‘Bat Out Of Hell’ that make the coveted number one spot? Or will modern giant-slayers like Robbie, Madonna or James Blunt pip them to the post?
Tune in on Saturday 18th November for the hottest music countdown ever!
