London, Wednesday 22nd October 2008 - MTV Networks International today announced that Take That will perform at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. The 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be broadcast live from the Liverpool Echo Arena, Liverpool – European Capital of Culture - on Thursday 6th November and are sponsored by edc by Esprit, Sony Ericsson and Dell.
The band debuted for MTV in 1994 at the very first MTV Europe Music Awards at the Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, where they also scooped the award for Best Group. The band is now returning to perform on stage at the fifteenth MTV Europe Music Awards following their comeback in 2006 and the sellout tour in 2007, The Beautiful World Tour.
Take That’s performance at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Liverpool will precede the release of The Circus on December 1st 2008 - the long-awaited follow-up to the nine-times platinum Beautiful World album. The first single from the new album, Greatest Day, will be released on November 24th and its performance at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards will be its first pan-European live performance by the band.

Take That will join fellow performers Beyoncé, P!nk, Duffy, The Killers and Kid Rock on the stage on the night of the Awards, which is hosted by Katy Perry.
“After having performed at the first ever MTV Europe Music Awards in 1994 and having such fond memories of the event in Berlin, it is a great honour to be asked back 14 years later to perform in the wonderful city of Culture that is Liverpool. Take That’s last album Beautiful World sold more than two and half million copies in the UK, making it their most successful record to date. Since reclaiming their place as Britain’s best loved band Take That have won a string of prestigious awards including an Ivor Novello for single Shine, and three Brit Awards: Best Single (2007) for Patience, Best Single (2008) for Shine and Best Live Act (2008). Their last two tours sold over a million tickets and the live DVDs they released in the wake of both were the biggest selling music titles of 2006 (The Ultimate Tour) and 2007 (Beautiful World Live).
