As part of MTV’s ongoing multimedia HIV and AIDS prevention campaign, Staying Alive – 48Fest is to be premiered on Friday 1st December, exclusive to MTV.
Hosted by Grammy Award-winning songstress Nelly Furtado, this one-off special, 30-minute documentary follows 48 youth participants in competition to make a short film highlighting the plight of HIV and AIDS across the world.
Staying Alive – 48Fest also features appearances from A-List stars including Justin Timberlake, Richard Gere and Alicia Keys, who will all be there to lend their support to the Spielbergs of the future.
Representing 27 countries across Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe, Latin America and the United States, they have been challenged to write, shoot, edit and deliver a three minute film about HIV and AIDS related themes…the catch is, they only have 48 hours in which to complete the task.
This exclusive documentary follows the young film-makers as they progress through their many stages of film production at MTV’s Staying Alive – 48Fest ‘s first film competition, held in conjunction with AIDS 2006 in Toronto in August.
