Introducing MTV’s newest, odd couple, ‘Rob and Big Black’.
Rob is Rob Dyrdek, a successful professional skateboarder.
A major player in the world of skateboarding Rob’s charisma and personality are as well-known as his abilities on a board. From designing innovative shoes for DC to forming The Rob Dyrdek/DC Shoes Skate Plaza Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to building legal street skateboarding spots around the world, Rob has continued to progress skateboarding and give back to the sport that has made him a star.
After years of being hassled by the police and security guards for riding in the streets Rob decided to hire some help. Cue Big Black.
Christopher Boykin aka Big Black weighs in at 400 pounds and is 6ft 6inches tall. Hired by Dyrdek as his security guard, Big makes sure skating is now hassle free.
This unlikely twosome are now best friends and live together as roommates in Dyrdeks’ home in the Hollywood Hills. The reality comedy is based on their weird and wonderful life together.
Executively produced by Jeff Tremaine, the man behind MTV hits ‘Jackass’ and ‘Wildboyz’, ‘Rob and Big Black’ has already gone down a treat in the US, since its’ launch in November ’06.
