You know you’ve definitely made it when a musical production is made about your tribute band. NEVER FORGET is a brand new musical about the members of the unlikeliest Take That tribute band. VH1’s ‘Never Forget – Behind the Musical’ exclusively follows the behind the scenes action as the stage show evolves from X-factor style auditions, scripting and rehearsals, through to the nerve-wracking opening night and nationwide tour.
The opening episode showcases the open casting sessions and sees the producers endure hundreds of auditions, seeking out the perfect pop poppets to play the Take That tribute band who headline the musical. After hours of auditions, 5 diamonds in the rough are spotted and snapped up to play the all-important lead roles. Once selected, the boys are swiftly primped, polished and given the full makeover treatment to get them into character and prepare them for the gruelling weeks of rehearsals that lie ahead.
Witness the tears, tantrums and tensions that go into making a musical and revel in nostalgia of the Take That soundtrack as the production team and novice cast deal with tight deadlines and spiralling costs in the drive to deliver that elusive hit musical.
