Spanking New Music Week, MTV’s bi-annual live music spectacular, returns for a triumphant fifth year with a mission to seek out and showcase the freshest new music talent for 2007. In six different shows, specially selected newcomers and established artists perform their latest material live.
Previous Spanking New Music Week’s have helped kick-start the careers of major acts such as The Kooks, Bloc Party, The Editors and Dirty Pretty Things.

The Arctic Monkeys kick of proceedings with a rip-roaring set filmed live in Barcelona.

Zane Lowe brings you an exceptional line up of new faces on the indie scene, including searing performances from The Twang, Hadouken! and The Wombats. Biffy Clyro introduce tracks from their fourth album with a head banging headline set.

Trevor meets Kano @ 8pm
Spanking New Music Special @ 8:30pm
Kano discusses his new album and ascent from the underground scene to mainstream success with Trevor Nelson. Later Kano headlines a sensational bill of newcomers including Unklejam, N-Dubz and myspace sensation Jme.

Natasha Bedingfield Live @ 8pm
Hosted by Emma Griffiths and Matt Willis, MTV Hits brings you a solo set from ex-Sugababe, Mutya Buena, plus performances from Calvin Harris and The Hoosiers. Natasha Bedingfield revisits the Spanking New Music stage that helped to launch her career in 2004 to give a stunning live performance of material from her new album.
