Heather Jones - Executive Vice President, Content & Creative, Music & Comedy and Director of Television

In her current role, Heather Jones has overall responsibility for content and creativity across the music and comedy channel portfolio at MTV Networks UK & Ireland. Jones oversees and manages all areas from strategy through to production across 9 - MTV, VH1 and TMF - branded music channels, as well as maintaining overall direction of 3 Paramount Comedy channels.

Jones is leading an integrated 360-degree approach to programming, across all platforms, in an effort to become one of the leading entertainment providers in the UK. This is exemplified in new MTV shows such as Totally Jodie Marsh and Fist of Zen, as well as forthcoming productions like ‘Living On The Edge’.

Prior to her role at MTV, Jones was Managing Director at Paramount Comedy having joined as Director of Programming in 2002. In that time, Heather successfully reinvigorated the brand, firstly re-structuring the company and then launching a total re-brand to reflect the channel’s personality and unique position as the only UK channel dedicated to comedy, as well as overseeing the launch of a third channel, Paramount Comedy 1+. Jones was also responsible for commissioning The World Stand Up, Two And A Half Men, (the channel’s first acquisition from the LA Screenings), Stacked and Everybody Hates Chris.

In June 2006 the channel won two prestigious industry awards – Best General Entertainment Channel and Best Channel Marketing – at the Broadcast Digital Channel Awards reflecting the success of the strategy to increase ratings share and reach which grew by 23% (Adults) and 14% in Peaktime for Pay TV Adults (Sep-Feb 06 vs. Sep-Feb 05) respectively.

Jones joined Paramount Comedy in 2002 from Flextech where she was Channel Editor of Trouble. Before that, she worked at Buena Vista Television starting as a researcher before moving on to work as producer/director.

Heather started her career at Euro Disney in 1992 where, as a brand ambassador, she represented the company appearing regularly on television including Richard and Judy.
