Christmas songs; do they bring back childhood memories and a sense of excitement, or just drive you right up the chimney? This year VH1 will provide the ultimate festive soundtrack to your Christmas with an epic celebration of your favouite yuletide hits, which will get even the biggest scrooge in the festive mood. But what will be the Greatest Christmas Song Ever?
VH1’s countdown will see festive crimbo classics like Cliff Richard’s Mistletoe and Wine, Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody and Elton John’s Step into Christmas, up against some of the best novelty numbers including Proper Crimbo by Bo Selecta, Have a Cheeky Christmas by The Cheeky Girls and Once upone a Christmas Song by Geraldine.
And for an added sprinkling of pop, X Factor winner Alexandra Burke with, Hallelujah, the Spice Girls with Two Become One and East 17 with Stay Another Day will all battle it out. Viewers will decide which festive favourite will be awarded the the coveted title of Greatest Christmas Song Ever (www.mtv.co.uk/xmas from 21 November).
