The stage is set for another live music spectacular as Gonzo on Tour returns to MTV2. Hitting the road for its fourth consecutive year, the tour showcases the rising talents destined for superstar status, broadcast from intimate venues across Britain. Once again hosted by MTV icon Zane Lowe, this year’s line up also features performances whose profiles soared throughout 2006, including The Kooks and Razorlight. Gonzo on Tour is back, and viewers can experience the adulation and the euphoria on Friday 17th November from 7pm.
Acclaimed alumni who have lit up the tour in previous years include Kaiser Chiefs, Franz Ferdinand and chart toppers Arctic Monkeys, whose groundbreaking sounds stole the show last year, propelling them to number one glory shortly after. Twelve months on, Gonzo hits six of Britain’s Barfly Venues to champion a fresh legion of awe inspiring artists on the brink of major success, each with a play list that oozes originality and energy.
Taking in 200-400 capacity venues across Birmingham (13th October), Cardiff (14th October), London (15th October), Liverpool (20th October), York (21st October) and Glasgow (22nd October), Scottish newcomers The View will launch each night, with Klaxons and The Young Knives amongst the headliners. Support bands set to send adrenaline levels into overdrive include Mumm-Ra, The Long Blondes and The Grates.
