David Lynn - Executive Vice President and Managing Director, MTV Networks UK & Ireland

David was appointed Executive Vice President and Managing Director, MTVN UK in March 2007, taking responsibility for all of MTVN’s UK operations, including 17 TV channels, 16 Web sites and 4 mobile TV channels across the MTV, VH1 and TMF brands, as well as its interests in its joint venture businesses with BSkyB – Nickelodeon UK and Paramount Comedy Channel UK. In August 2007 Lynn was appointed Chairman of the Satellite and Cable Broadcasting Group (SCBG).

Prior to taking this role, Lynn had been SVP, Managing Director at Nickelodeon (one of MTVN UK’s primary brands) since December, 2004. He was responsible for all UK broadcast operations, including all commercial relationships enjoyed by Nickelodeon UK as well as the digital strategy and was instrumental in launching ‘Nicktrition’, Nickelodeon UK’s major campaign to help kids to eat healthily and stay active.

Prior to Nickelodeon, Lynn held several positions within Paramount Comedy UK, most recent was General Manager, which he was appointed to in 2002, with an additional remit to develop advertising and distribution for Paramount Comedy in the Spanish market. Lynn guided Paramount Comedy to achieve consistent top ten channel status, maintaining that position despite intense competition.

Lynn, who comes with a wealth of experience in the UK multichannel environment, began his media career at Viacom in 1997. He was appointed as Finance Director in 1999 at Paramount Comedy UK and became Vice President, Commercial Operations in 2001.

Lynn played a key role in developing the Paramount Comedy brand for the UK marketplace. Successes included the securing of long-term carriage deals for the launch of Paramount Comedy 2 on Sky, and cable. Lynn also oversaw the rollout of the Paramount Comedy brand into Italy
